Lindsey Horan – USA Soccer Team
Lindsey Horan plays the position of midfielder and will be making an appearance for the U.S. Women’s World Cup Team. You can expect that Horan will be playing a pivotal role in order for this team to win the World Cup. Lindsey had previously missed out on making the USA Women’s World Cup Roster in 2015, and that has made her more determined, which has been seen through her play on the field.
Even though Lindsey had a scholarship to play for North Carolina, Horan instead signed a professional contract to play for Paris Saint-Germain in 2012. Lindsey made history by being the first female soccer player to skip college and head straight to the pros. There, she appeared in two UEFA Women’s Champions League matches during the years of 2013 & 2014. She spent four seasons with PSG, in which she scored 46 goals in 58 appearances. In January 2016, she signed with the Portland Thorns and came back home to the United States. In 2017, Horan was named NWSL Championship MVP after scoring the game winning goal against the North Carolina Courage in the NWSL Championship game. In 2018, Lindsey was named Team MVP and the winner of the Golden Boot.
