Allie Long - USA Soccer Team
Allie Long plays the midfield position and will be making an appearance for the U.S. Women’s World Cup Team. She is a very versatile and creative passer. At one point it seemed Long was on the bubble of either making the team or not. She had previously missed the roster for the SheBelieves Cup. But after having a lingering knee injury, now Allie is fully healed and is ready to make an impact for this team.
Long began her career in Penn State until she transferred to the University of North Carolina, where she won the NCAA National Championship with the team. She was selected with the 7th overall pick in the 2009 WPS Draft by the Washington Freedom. Long played for the Washington Freedom, Sky Blue FC, Paris Saint-Germain, and the New York Fury. Allie’s most successful time in her career was playing with the Portland Thorns, in which she achieved career highs. Now she is playing for the Reign FC.
Notable career highlights:
-2016 NWSL Best XI
-2016 NWSL Player of the Month in September
-2015 NWSL Best XI
-2014 NWSL Second XI
