Megan Rapinoe
Megan Rapinoe plays the position of forward and will be making an appearance for the U.S. Women’s World Cup Team. She is a co-captain for this team, and a leader nature. Her hunger, determination, and desire to be great is seen through her play on the field and how she carries herself off the field. Rapinoe is an advocate for equality, particularly when it comes to women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and many other forms equality.
Megan played for the University of Portland in college. Rapinoe was NSCAA First team All-American, and many other awards, but also suffered serious knee injury while there. In the 2009 WPS Draft, Megan was selected 2nd overall by the Chicago Red Stars. She has also played for other teams such as the Olympique Lyonnais and the Sydney FC. For the last 5 years, Rapinoe has played for the Seattle Reign FC.
