Alyssa Naeher – USA Women Soccer Team
Alyssa Naeher is an American soccer player who represents The United Nation’s women soccer team as a goalkeeper. She also plays for the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Born in the year 1988 on April, 20 in Connecticut, Alyssa Naeher is the daughter of John and Donna-Lynn Naeher, who was very passionate about soccer and basketball.She attended Christian Heritage School, where she followed her passion & became a standout player in Soccer. From the beginning, she has performed impeccably in soccer & secured the title of three-time All-state and three-time FAA All-Conference selection.
Later, she attended Pennsylvania State University for higher education, and there she played as a goalkeeper for the Pennsylvania State Women’s Soccer Team from 2006-2009. She began her soccer career at college level &played around 74 matches during this period.In 2010 women’s professional soccer draft, she got selected by the Boston Breakers as the 11th overall pick. She was the first goalkeeper selected in this 2010 WPS draft&she played against the Atlanta Beat. In the year 2011, she transferred to German Bundesliga champion Turbine Potsdam where she played around 29 matches.
In the year 2014, Alyssa Naeher won the title of Goalkeeper of the year in National Women’s Soccer League Season for 106 saves in 24 games. Moving ahead in her professional soccer journey, in the year 2015, Naeher was transferred from Boston Breaker to the Chicago Red Star for defender Whitney Engen.
In the year 2016, she earned the title of player of the month for May. She also won the Golden Glove award as the best goalkeeper. Alyssa Naeher was on the roster for 2015 women’s world cup as a backup for Hope Solo but she didn’t play. Apart for her soccer career, she was featured in the EA sport’s FIFA video game series in FIFA’16. She always had a full dedication on her career & that’s how she managed to excel in it.
