Adrianna Franch – USA Soccer Team
Adrianna Franch is an American football player who is regarded as a goalkeeper of exceptional talent. She is a member of the Women’s national soccer team & also plays for Portland Thorns FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Born in the year 1990 in Kansas, Adrianna had a distinctive fascination for soccer from childhood. She attended Salina South High School, and there she started playing as a goalkeeper and earned All-State, All-Southwest Region, and All-League honors. Her mother encouraged her to follow her passion for soccer which eventually leads her into becoming a top goalkeeper in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Later, she enrolled herself in the Oklahoma State University where she played 24 matches as a goalkeeper. Adrianna’s impeccable performance made her the most decorated player in the Oklahoma State University soccer history. She is also a two-time All-American & MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist.
In the year 2013, she became the first goalkeeper picked by Western New York Flash. Her first match was against Sky Blue FC where she saved six goals. In the year 2014, she had a ligament injury due to which she couldn’t play that season’s tournament. Since childhood, Adrianna Franch used to idolize Bri Scurry, the former women’s national team goalkeeper, later when she started shinning in her career, people referred to her as the next Bri Scurry.
In the year 2015, Adrianna became a member of the National Women’s Soccer League Club, Portland Thorns FC.So far, she has played around 29 matches & bagged the title of NWSL Goalkeeper of the year. Finally, she joined the women’s national soccer team in the year 2016.
French once quoted that, “You have to believe that it’s achievable for you to continue to keep going for it”. She passionately followed her dream of playing professional soccer, and her hard work & dedication made her dreams come true.
